PROJECT RESULTS OF 2024

With the addition of France and Belgium, the project successfully educated more than 9.000 youth between the ages of 11-12 from six different European countries on social inclusion and gender equality, through their participation in the free street soccer tournaments across 120 gamedays in the preliminary rounds. 


In the final tournament, a total of 96 youth, 16 from each of the six countries, went to France where they additionally experienced the joys and values of intercultural communication, inclusion, and cooperation through the common game of street soccer. In the final tournament, both the Dutch girls’ and boys’ teams won their categories, with the respect award going to Spanish girls and French boys for their inclusivity and attitudes during the matches.


In total, an estimated 850 volunteers participated in the tournaments across all rounds and countries, with education opportunities on essential tools for volunteers working regularly on social inclusion and gender equality for youth in street sports in their communities.


The project results positively impacted the three target groups of: youth aged 11-12 who participated in the street soccer tournaments; volunteers accompanying teams or leading tournament activities; and the consortium partners themselves. 


Together these organizations can utilize sport as a tool for social transformation, with international alliances like Streetwise14 leading to improved outcomes and increased relevance of the social changes that each partner works towards on their local playgrounds.

The project successfully educated a total of 9.840 youth between the ages of 11-12 from four different European countries on social inclusion and gender equality, through their participation in the free street soccer tournaments across 118 gamedays in the preliminary rounds.


In the final tournament, a total of 80 youth, 20 from each of the four countries, came together in Spain where they additionally experienced the joys and values of intercultural communication, inclusion, and cooperation through the common game of street soccer. In the final tournament, the Dutch girls team and Danish boys team won their categories, with the respect award going to Italy for their inclusivity and attitudes during the matches.


In total, an estimated 860 volunteers participated in the tournaments across all rounds and countries, with education opportunities on essential tools for volunteers working regularly on social inclusion and gender equality for youth in street sports in their communities.
